Custom dashboard requirements

Dashboard customization is a change of a standard dashboard to suit your special requirements. This is necessary when standard statistics and data presentation are not enough, and you want the dashboard to reflect more information.

You can order a BI dashboard of varying degrees of data presentation customization. To order a customization to suit your requirements, please follow the recommendations below.

Data

In most cases, a dashboard is a combination of filters, dimensions and values.

Filters

Filters allow you to select a subset of the data to display. For example, date of visit, retail chain, product category.

Filters can be:

  • textual, for example, filter by a store address;
  • with selection of category — choice of one or more values from the list of options;
  • with selection of time — start/end date and time.

Variables

Variables reflect the dependence of data on various factors. For example, a retail chain, product category, region, or city.

Variables are often organized in a hierarchy: a city is included in a region, a sub-category is in a category, a merchandiser is subordinate to a supervisor, and the latter is subordinate to a territorial manager.

Values

The values determine which metrics is displayed in the dashboard, taking into account variables and filters. For example:

  • Share of Shelf;
  • % fulfillment of the Share of Shelf plan in the visit; -% of visits in which the Share of Shelf plan was fulfilled;
  • OSA;
  • the number of Faces;
  • product price;
  • mark of a promo;
  • link to the visit page.

The basic requirement for any dashboard is a table listing filters, variables and values.

Visualization

Dashboards support a wide range of visualizations. First of all, we recommend visualizing:

  • cards. One large number at the top of the dashboard;
  • matrices. These are the tables with the ability to consistently "falling deep" into the details of the data, gradually opening new columns;
  • charts in the context of time;
  • maps. Points on the map are colored with the traffic light colors. When you hover over a point, a tip appears.

To define requirements for more complex visualizations, please draw and send us a sketch of the dashboard.

Themes

Dashboards are designed in the same style - in corporate colors, and using the company logo. It is better to provide information about the corporate identity in advance, and not to change it for different dashboards.
