January 2022
In January, we updated another section of the portal, added new features to the app, and added product metrics.
Portal
Routes
We continue to work on a new design. This month we have completely finished work on the section Routes. Now they can be edited manually right on the portal. If you need to add all stores to the route, this can be done with one button. This option is also available in the Tasks section.
Works on the portal
When updating services or restoring the operation of the portal after failures, a situation may arise that requires disabling the service. Now, if work is being done on the portal, the user will see a message telling them to try the operation later.
As soon as the work is completed, the portal will become available for work again.
Camera 3
Version 1.9.0 was released this month. In it, we added geofencing, FakeGPS detection, and several features that will help improve the quality of photos when shooting. The full list of innovations can be found in change history.
Geofencing
Geofencing or geofencing allows you to set boundaries for a specific area, as well as trigger events depending on the user's location in this area.
In the application, this will allow you to determine the position of the user during a visit to the store. If it is too far from the store, display a warning about this, and after a while, end the visit.
If during the visit the user moves away from the store at a certain distance, he will receive an warning about this. In this case, he must return to the store and continue the visit.
If the user has not returned to the point after a long time, the application will close the visit automatically, and the user will receive a [notification] (/docs/mobile/ic3/problems/visit_problems/visit_ended) in the application about this.
You can enable geofencing, as well as set its settings, such as distance and timer for completing a visit, from your manager.
FakeGPS
If a real location spoofing app is being used on a mobile device, Camera 3 will detect this and asks to disable the location emulator.
Taking a photo
Added a grid and horizon angles for taking photos in the app. They will allow the user to properly frame the frame. In addition, survey data, such as the level of horizontal perspective, will also be sent to the portal for DQI calculation.
While shooting, the app now displays a message that the photo is being saved to the device.
When taking overlapped photos, you can now specify the direction. When shooting for the first time, the application will prompt you to choose the direction of gluing. After taking the first photo, a slightly darkened area will appear, which you need to match with the next photo. The function works in both horizontal and vertical shooting.
Service metrics
For internal analysis of product quality information, we have added product metrics. They will allow you to objectively monitor the operation of services, identify vulnerabilities, and where direct efforts to improve quality.
The metrics will track the availability of the backend, photo recognition, service availability, application failures, the correctness of the recognition, incidents, and requests to technical support, as well as the speed of their resolution.
The collected information will allow you to understand what are the problem areas of the service and where to direct efforts to improve quality in the first place.
