August 2021

This month, we added Surveys and OOS causes to the IC Camera 3 application, added the Question Editor to the portal, and improved the Shelf Detector.

Surveys in IC Camera 3

A survey is an electronic questionnaire with questions about the current task. It allows you to collect information for analysis from a specified point of sale. For example, whether there is a group of goods or a promotional stand at a point of sale.

IC Camera 3

We have added surveys to the new IC Camera 3 application. The principle of its operation is the same as in Camera 2. During a visit, select a survey from the list of visit tasks, and answer the provided questions.

The answers will be displayed in the Questions tab, and also in the visit results.

Editor on the portal

The portal now has a Questionnaire section with all the organization's surveys. You can edit or delete existing survey questions there.

What's next

In the next updates, we will add an ability to create surveys from scratch, and add them to the tasks.

In addition, new types of questions will be added: dependent ones. Following certain answers to such questions, some other, codependent questions will appear.

Example

Survey question: are there any products from the Dry Breakfasts category at the point of sale? If the answer is Yes, another question appears, in which you will need to note which brands from the list are on the shelf.

Shelf detector for panoramic gluing

To calculate complex KPIs, business rules, and other useful information, the system must understand the configuration of shelves and racks in a photo. For example, in order for the shelves to be correctly numbered, you need to understand their relative position. To do this, you need to know where one shelf is, where the other is, and where they are connected.

For the system to better calculate indicators, such as brand blocks and planograms, we have improved the algorithm. Now the system sees racks boundaries at the goods and shelves intersection more clearly.

OOS

OOS (Out Of Stock) are the cases when a particular SKU is not available at a point of sale. At the same time, information about these trade units is already in the reports, and their price tags are displayed on the shelves.

This month we added OOS Causes to the IC Camera 3 application.

The way it works

This functionality works as in Camera 2. The reason for OOS can be specified during a visit, under the Results tab in the task.

Find your item in the out of stock list, tap on Reason, and select the OOS reason. For example, Recognition Error, or Not in Network Matrix.

The information will be updated immediately in the visit on the portal. To view a product card, tap on its SKU in the list.

OCR price tags

OCR (Optical Character Recognition) is a mechanism for recognizing data from an image, and converting it into a text format. Using OCR for price tags, you can get textual data about the product, for example:

  • Product name;
  • Current or initial price (if the product is on sale);
  • Weight and quantity of goods per kg, liter, pcs.

Now the system can:

  • Recognize the goods price by price tag;
  • Recognize text and return it in a text block.

In the next updates, we plan to improve and refine the mechanism, in order to get more information from the price tags.
